Mooresville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu trains under Professor Tom DeBlass — a 4th Degree Black Belt under Ricardo Almeida (Renzo Gracie 6th Degree), Pan American Title holder, two-time ADCC trials champion, UFC and Bellator veteran.
The black belt at the top of every Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy matters. Below is exactly who certifies, tests, and supports the instructors at Mooresville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Tom DeBlass is a proud 4th Degree Black Belt student of Ricardo Almeida — a 6th Degree Black Belt under Renzo Gracie. Tom began his martial arts career studying Tae Kwon Do at age 6. In high school he was a county and state-sectional long jump champion.
Professor DeBlass has established himself as one of the best adult American Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitors. He is the ONLY person in NJ to win an adult Black Belt Pan American Title and the ONLY person in NJ history to win the North American ADCC trials twice.
His competition record includes medals and championships at the IBJJF Worlds, Nationals, and Pan American Jiu-Jitsu tournaments. Professor is also a UFC and Bellator Fighting Championship veteran.
Tom and his staff have built one of the largest BJJ academies in New Jersey — over 6,000 sq ft and close to 300 students.
Every instructor at Mooresville Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a black belt who tests and progresses under Professor Tom DeBlass. That's the room you walk into for your free class.
